My Philosophy
Kate believes that everyone is on their own path to healing and that we all have the power to take healing matters into our own hands. Kate uses an eclectic blend of mindfulness, somatic experiencing, nature-informed practices, and breath work to help clients deepen their connection to Self and feel embodied in their identities. In addition, their formal training in CBT, DBT, ACT, and other evidence-based approaches offers an individualized therapy experience that is uniquely tailored to each person. Kate believes everyone deserves to be met where they are and holds sacred the opportunity to walk alongside their clients on their journeys of healing and growth.
Who is Kate?
Often it is expected that therapists will be blank slates, and Kate believes in embracing their humanness in all aspects of their personal and professional life. When Kate is not in the role of therapist or yoga teacher, they can be found gardening, crocheting, hiking, meditating, practicing self care, playing music, making pottery, reading, journaling, and tending to their many house plants. Kate is a Covid-conscious person who practices illness prevention at work and in their personal life. With lived-experience as a disabled, neurodivergent, queer person, self and community care are among Kate's top values they prioritize in life. Kate holds intersecting identities and privileges of being White-bodied, femme presenting-AFAB, gender diverse, queer, neurodivergent, disabled, working class, first generation college graduate, and spiritual.
